Let me help you turn your ideas about saving on its head!

In 2013 a survey revealed that 75% of Americans did not have enough savings to last them six months. It makes me think where will we be decades from now if so few of us are saving sufficiently. Most likely broke! However, we can embrace our financial realities and do something now:

PRACTICE MINDFULNESS-NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT
If you are really honest with yourself, you will realize that the “one day” approach to how much you save never comes. Starting saving now with a smaller amount is better than putting it off for the future. Adopting this mindfulness on the present by thinking about day to day savings helped people save more than those who were advised to think about the future. One study showed that those who focused on present day savings saved $216 a month on average compared to future focused savers who on average saved $118. And those who did not have a savings approach, only saved $81 on average.

YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF
Visualize yourself as an older person. What do you look like? How does your body look? Your face? This is the person you are giving money to, not the bank or to the obscure savings account. Visualize yourself as you make and implement savings everyday into your life. When you practice a more frugal mindset, picture your older self being given the gift rather than your present day say cutting back.
